How do I send files between my phone and PC?
Open a lobby on one device, share the 6-character code (or scan the QR) with the other, then drop files or text straight across. It works phone-to-PC, PC-to-phone, or between any two browsers.
Is Lobby free?
Yes. Lobby is completely free — no account, no sign-up, and no app to install.
Does it work across different networks?
Yes. Devices can be on the same Wi-Fi or anywhere on the internet. Lobby connects them peer-to-peer and only falls back to a relay when no direct path exists.
Are my files stored on a server?
No. Files and text travel directly device-to-device over an encrypted WebRTC connection. Nothing you send is uploaded to or stored on any server.
Do I need to install an app?
No. Lobby runs in your browser. You can optionally install it as a PWA for one-tap access, but it is never required.
How many devices can join one lobby?
Up to 8 devices can share the same lobby at once, and anything you drop is shared with everyone in the room.
